Your Responsibilities

  • Topographic, Construction, and Boundary surveying techniques
  • Support project managers and project teams with survey cost estimates, status reports, and high-qualitysurveying services in a responsive manner.
  • Ability to work in the field as well as in the office.
  • Understand state and local regulations regarding surveying.
  • Develop technical strategies and solutions to stay on leading edge of applied and profitable use of surveying technology.
  • Develop surveying fees, write proposals and negotiate and review contracts.
  • Effectively communicate information to staff, clients and leadership team.
  • Help build the professional practice of the firm.
  • Develop and expand sales and new clients.
  • Develop a network of clients, partners, and influencers within surveying and engineering communities.
  • Participate in related professional societies, conferences and local organizations in support of business development and networking.
  • Using complex optical and electronic instruments and equipment.  Trimble experience is a plus.
  • Train subordinates on work methods
  • Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's Degree in surveying is required;
  • At least 10 years' experience in diverse surveying environments,
  • (3) years in a leadership role is required. 
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation v8, GEOPAK and familiarity with MDOT survey standards preferred.
  • Ability to understand and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present work to the team in a clear and concise manner.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
